Continuing with Foodie July, The Boy and I had the degustation at Dear Friends Restaurant in the Swan Valley to celebrate his birthday (which is exactly two weeks after mine!). As usual he will write a blog post about it eventually, but here’s a few of my favourite shots in the meantime. I really enjoyed the emphasis on fresh, local produce, foraged elements and things like yoghurt and cheeses made in-house. It reminded me a bit of the River Cottage series! The service was friendly and impeccable, and they were very tolerant of me with my big camera and The Boy asking questions about ingredients. With the fireplaces and the cozy feel of a converted house, I think it’s a great place to spend a winter’s evening.
