At the time this post goes live, I should be ringing in the new year with The Boy and some friends, on the Champs-Élysées in Paris! Or, if it’s raining too much to party outside, I could be just chilling in our apartment with some champagne, watching our slice of Paris from the window.
I didn’t have time to do a year in review roundup, but it has been a good one. Becoming more fit and healthy, saving like crazy for the trip of a lifetime, striving to be a more mindful consumer, celebrating our first wonderful year of marriage, and of course experiencing the beauty of Scotland, Ireland, England, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and now France. There have been challenges of course, but I feel like I’m slowly working on things at my own pace, and I can’t ask more of myself than that. This year I’m not going to make any resolutions other than to keep going – I’m not there yet with all that I want to do (and I don’t think I’ll ever be), but I think I’m heading in the right direction.
Have a wonderful New Year’s everyone!
EDIT: So as it turned out, a) this post went live at midnight Perth time, several hours before New Year’s in Paris, and b) we decided to stay in and drink a cup of tea midnight, after a nice dinner and drinks with friends (who decided to brave the rain). I have no regrets.
